Tom's approach suits martial arts techniques and strategies to the individual in a way that accelerates adoption of martial skill. This is a talent honed through years of customizing mind-body and martial arts performance programs for leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and passionate learners in Shanghai and Hong Kong - trainees who were motivated by rapid growth and peak performance, rather than system or rank.
For those with little knowledge or experience in martial arts, Tom has is own curriculm that covers the foundations of striking with hands and feet, locking, and controlling from the ground up. For those with experience and an idea of skills or strategies they'd like to specialize in, sessions can be oriented around those as well.
Considerations for Personal Training:
Martial arts foundations can effectively be learned privately, but skills that require stress-testing, timing, and physical contact are best acheived through semi private (2 or 4 trainees) training. For skills like locking, throwing, and controlling, like those found in Hapkido, Aikido, and Jiujitsu, mulitple bodies enhance the process.

Tom's Martial Arts Background
Tom's career in martial arts spans three decades under dozens of experts around the world in a variety of disciplines. He's studied empty hand striking under masters and grandmasters of Taekwondo, Karate, and Muai Thai in the United States and Thailand. He's studied traditional kung fu weaponry and qigong in China under Shaolin protector monks. And he's studied practical self defense with military combative instructors and professional MMA fighters. Tom was the first to introduce practical women's self defense workshops to Hong Kong and Shanghai, China.
Tom draws from a wide range of disciplines and approaches including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Shaolin Kung Fu, Thai Boxing, Filipino boxing, MMA, and others, to plot a course that is wholly unique to each trainee. While he holds black belts in several martial arts, Tom believes that rank and lineage distract from the essence of martial arts training. Though his system is progressive, there are no certifications that qualify someone for the harshness of the streets, or the uncertainty of life. One must develop confidence and self sufficiency born of consistent hard work and dedication to the craft.
